To put it as simply as possible, you (the client) should only be compensating for the technician's time and what was spent to obtain your replacement parts.

We bill our Rowlett based appliance repair clients that way. All you are expected to pay is the cost of our labor and any replacement parts needed to complete the job. Often times we'll have general parts on-hand in our work vehicle as well which can significantly speed up your repair time. If we happen to need to visit one of our local suppliers - we will forward any discounts we receive and we won't mark-up the cost of the parts whatsoever.
You deserve a fair experience. Any appliance trouble is an instant headache, we can certainly understand that. Are you sure your washer is level where it's sitting? If it is offset at all, it can contribute toward excessive vibrations when in use. This can cause the machine to shake around which puts extra pressure on its internal parts. It's not just a problem because of the loud noise production. If you have a newer unit, you might also have a sensor that watches out for, and attempts to correct, uneven loads - these machines are more finicky and sometimes the sensor becomes defective and needs to be replaced.
